Mantoux TB skin test

A small injection under the skin of the forearm, read exactly 48 hours later.

What it is for

Required by TCI Immigration as part of the migrant health evaluation. The injection itself takes a minute; the result is read at a second, five-minute visit exactly two days later. Monday in, Wednesday back.

Before you come in

Preparation

No fasting

  • No special preparation.
  • Tell us if you have had a BCG vaccine, a previous positive TB test, or a recent live vaccine.

Do not miss this

You must come back exactly 48 hours after the injection to have the site read. Monday in, Wednesday back. Miss it and the test has to be repeated. Do not scratch, cover or put cream on the site.

What to bring

  • Passport or photo ID
  • Any previous TB test or chest X-ray results
