FAQ

Questions, answered.

What we get asked about most: work permit medicals, lab work, appointments, and visiting the clinic.

Work permit medicals

What's included in a work permit medical?

A complete workup in one visit. Physician exam, the full infectious disease panel (HIV, syphilis RPR, Hepatitis B), urinalysis, the Mantoux TB skin test, and any required vaccinations administered on-site. We help you put the file together so Immigration has what it needs.

Does AccuDiagnostics issue the medical certificate?

No. The medical certificate itself is issued by Migrant Health, not by us. What we do is make sure every test result and supporting document you need for approval leaves with you in one visit.

How long does the medical take?

Most are done in under an hour, including the physician exam, blood draw, urinalysis, TB skin test, and any required vaccinations. The Mantoux TB test requires a follow-up reading 48–72 hours later, a quick separate visit.

Can my employer send several staff in at once?

Yes. Bring one new hire or twenty. Pre-employment medicals are part of our occupational health service. We work with employer schedules and turn paperwork around fast.

My employer is sending me for a work permit medical. Who pays?

It depends on your employer. In most cases the employer covers the cost of the work permit medical itself, while any follow-up visits, additional tests, or other clinic care are billed to the individual. Confirm the specifics with your HR.

Lab testing

How long do lab results take?

Most results are back the same day. Routine samples are processed on-island in our own lab by certified technicians on calibrated instruments. No overseas couriers, no two-week waits.

Do I need an appointment for a blood test?

Walk-ins are welcome during business hours. You can also book online for priority scheduling and a guaranteed time slot.

Do I need to fast before my test?

Some tests (lipid panel, glucose, comprehensive metabolic panel) need 8–12 hours of fasting for accurate results. If you're not sure whether your test requires fasting, call us before your visit.

What lab tests do you offer?

Routine and specialized panels including complete blood count (CBC), basic metabolic, lipid profile, STI screens, thyroid function, HbA1c, urinalysis, and drug screens, plus the full work-permit-medical panel. The complete list is on our Services page.

Appointments & visits

Can I see a doctor without an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome during business hours. For a guaranteed time slot and shorter waits, booking online is faster.

Can the doctor write prescriptions and referrals?

Yes. Our board-certified physicians handle sick visits, chronic disease management, preventive screening, routine physicals, prescriptions, and specialist referrals.

Are same-day visits possible?

Often, yes. Particularly for walk-ins during business hours. If you need a confirmed same-day slot, give us a call.

DNA & paternity testing

What's the difference between personal and legal paternity testing?

Personal testing is for your own peace of mind. We collect the buccal swab here, ship samples to our accredited DDC lab partner in Florida, and the result comes back to you in confidence. Legal testing follows formal chain-of-custody (a verified collection where identities are confirmed and samples sealed), so the result is admissible in court. We offer both.

How long do paternity results take?

About six weeks. We collect the buccal swab here at the clinic and ship samples to DDC's accredited laboratory in Florida for processing.

Visiting the clinic

Where are you located?

C101 Cabot House, Graceway IGA Plaza, on Leeward Highway in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. There is parking out front.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM. Closed Sunday. Holiday hours may vary.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill international insurance directly. Payment is taken upfront at the time of service, and we provide you with a receipt and any documentation you need to file a reimbursement claim with your own insurer afterwards.

How will I get my results?

Most results are signed off the same day and added to your patient portal as soon as they're verified. Every report carries a QR code that links to our digital verification system, so anyone you share it with can confirm it's authentic.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. All records are confidential. Every step from check-in to printed report runs through our integrated clinical platform. No handwritten logs, no paper trail to lose.

Ready for accurate results?
