With deep roots in community involvement and a vision for nation building, Shanwell founded Accu Diagnostics Ltd. in 2008 with one clear mission: to elevate the quality of healthcare across the islands and make it accessible to all.

As a certified laboratory technologist and Master of Public Health, Shanwell believed the people of the Turks and Caicos deserved a clinic that could deliver global standards of care with the warmth of local service. His mission was never about chasing trends, it was about laying the foundation for the forward development of healthcare in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

When the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, Accu Diagnostics stepped forward as the only private lab in the country equipped to provide RT-PCR testing, easing the pressure on our national health system and helping to keep our borders open, businesses running, and our community safe.
